If it's too much they may cough/choke slightly as a lot comes out at once. Pull off and dribble a lot of milk. Too little they may get frustrated on the boob and pull to try get more out.
My let down is too much and my baby will break to a shallow latch, make a clicking sound, gulp the milk down trying to keep up with it, choke or come off completely. You yourself might feel a sort of intense tingling feeling in your breasts if you have a strong let down
Any advice on how to stop it when the let down is too much? I usually let a little bit of milk out before my Lo feeds but sometimes that’s not doable
@Meg you can’t stop your let down completely but I’ve read somewhere if you squeeze your breast on the side they’re feeding from you might be able to slow the flow. I’ve not done this so not sure if that actually works. I just invested in some portable breast pumps and use these to trigger my let down before feeding my baby x
Your little one will usually show signs if it's too much. My let down in the night after too many hours of not feeding would be to much for my girl in the early days, she would pull off and dribble milk everywhere. Now she's a bit bigger that doesn't seem to happen anymore
