How much weight have you put on?

I’m getting a bit worried as I’m 31 weeks but have only put on 12lbs. I was very sick for the first 19 weeks and now I’m on a stupid GD diet so can’t eat what I really want. Nobody has weighed me since about 16 weeks so professionals don’t know. My bump etc measures fine and baby weighs normally! I put on 25lbs with my first so this seems a bit underweight to me?

It varies a lot and some of it depends on starting BMI. I think I've put on about 7lbs, 28 weeks. Been eating normally etc but had a high starting BMI so I should aim not to put on more than 20lbs anyway.

You don't have to put on much weight... my midwife wants me to stay under 20lb too.. but sometimes they recommend under 10lb if you are in the obese+ range.

For context, I’m a size 8 but look like I’ve swallowed a bowling ball 🙈

Aww bless you. I have GD too and a lot of ladies actually lose weight on that diet because it is high protein low carb so try not to worry. As long as you are eating enough and not restricting calories etc I'm sure it'll be ok. You could always mention it to your midwife.

I’m actually 4lb lighter than when I fell pregnant. I was overweight to start with so the midwife and consultant are happy with my weight and baby is growing normally and seems happy enough I’m 28 weeks at the moment so will start to put some weight on but they’ve said not to worry too much as long as it’s not excessive It’s very individual

I’m 29weeks and already put over 13kg 🙈 however my midwife is not worried and she said I don’t look like I put as much. I’m above my predicted weight gain but baby measurements are all perfect and I’m feeling alright but quite big (used to be very skinny before pregnancy) hope to get back to my shapes after all 🫣😅

@Dagmara Hear hear 🙌🏼🙌🏼 28 weeks, 12kg(26 pounds) Was very worried, but midwife said all is well as I was fit pre pregnancy and pregnancy is going very well and smoothly. I am also a healthy lifestyle enthusiast so this was quite disheartening to get used to, but I now know MANY women, including fitness women worlwide put on as much as 30kg and that's while keeping moderately active and eating well. As long as we feel healthy and baby is well, it is normal part of pregnancy. (lets just pray the weight will go down as quick as it came) 🤣🤭🤭❤️

Thanks everyone!

@Gabi I’m on exactly same boat 😅 so happy I’m not alone and good luck for us after all, fingers crossed 🤞😂♥️
