Sedgwick

Has anyone dealt with Sedgwick before? My company uses them as a vendor for our leaves of absence. My doctor extended my leave due to postpartum depression/rage/anxiety. But Sedgwick says I should be back to work already even with my doctor submitting all the requested documents. IF…. I lose my job because they are considering me as “job abandonment” does that affect my SDI/PFL (haven’t taken that time yet) and do I also qualify for unemployment?

I use Sedgwick! I love them

I extended my leave with Sedgwick and I just submitted the required documents. They extended my leave no problem

They also require you to have a letter saying you’re okay to return to work from your Dr before you do return to work. Fill out the same form you submitted when you first started your disability leave, have your Dr write the justification as to why it’s extended. They will approve/decline it. You have a few weeks after your return to work date

If anything, you may need to use paid family leave first, then ask your Dr to write off short term disability leave if you’re still struggling… which may work in your favor if they allow you an entire year off

Pregnancy disability leave is 4 months total max

Did Sedgwick get all of your paperwork? Was it approved, Have you been at your job long enough to have FMLA? If you have get that paperwork signed and send it back to them. If they’re giving you a report back to work date then you may have to go back until paperwork is approved. Hopefully a day or two then go back out.

@Lauryn @Fiana I have filled out every document they’ve sent me and submitted all of my doctors notes and he’s filed out his portion of the paperwork. I am in an appeal process right now, but my job wants me back to work. This is all just so confusing to me
