Tampons after birth

When did people start using tampons again after giving birth?? Pads really irritate my skin, I'm fed up of having to use them.

I think until your body has recovered completely for the birth I wouldn’t use tampons. All your organs and everything else has to get back into place and your gonna be bleeding and a little sore down there the last thing you need is to put something down there in my opinion, but if you want to use tampons I’d probably wait a few months x

@Karly I have no pain what soever and didn't tear or anything during birth. But the pads are irritating me so much I have the worst rash. I have creams and tried different pads but there's something in them that I must react to 😭 it's so uncomfortable x

Tbh I completely get that I used tampons from 12 until I was pregnant with my little girl but i could never use pads for the same reason as you but I’ve found some that are completely fine for me. They’re the boots maternity pads ill ss them so you know what they look like hang on:

Have you tried period knickers? It’s just a thicker cotton to catch the blood may be better for you if you aren’t getting on with pads? I don’t think they recommend tampons until you are fully recovered from birth (around 6 week mark)

I’m prettt sure you can’t use them until the 6 week mark due to risk of infection etc x

Thanks everyone. I'm 4 weeks pp so will just have to keep using them for next 2 weeks. Lack of sleep and being uncomfortable is just making me feel miserable x
