Difficult family members

Just need to get this off my chest… Some of my family members aren’t supportive of my son and I. We went on a family holiday and my son kicked up a fuss about having a shower. He’s 2yrs old. We had been inside all day as it was raining heavily. He wasn’t dirty and wanted to play with his baby cousin a bit longer. I picked my battles and said that’s fine. I was going to give him a wipe over before bed. I jumped in the shower and some family members decided to bribe him into having a shower with lollies. Forcing him in and when he refused they told him to go away. I was horrified to find out what had happened when I got out. He was so upset that they told him to go away he went straight to bed. Of course he has showers daily and brushes his teeth but this night it just wasn’t worth the fight. They bring it up constantly and make digs and ask him if he’ll be having a shower tonight or if he’ll be brushing his teeth sarcastically. It was one night 5 months ago and they can’t get over it. They insinuated I was a bad mother and don’t clean my child which is ridiculous. He’s my beautiful boy - why on earth would I not keep him clean. It’s just so draining to hear this unneeded negativity. They don’t have children and think they’re high and mighty. Just wondering how others have dealt with difficult family members?

They would not be seeing my chold anytime soon! Totally toxic and unnecessary to treat a 2 year old that way!!!!

Family members love to say things and what you should and shouldn’t be doing 😂you sound like a great mum just do your own thing bite you tongue and just fake laugh 🥰
