Had to put down my first pet
My cat smudge had a seizure tonight..she had never had one before. Husband and I rushed her to the emergency vet. They diagnosed her with pyometra and tell us that it will be 5000$ to do surgery that they can't guarantee will help her or if this really was the cause of her seizure. Smudge was the first cat I ever had. I've had her since she was a kitten. I can't stop crying. I'm curdled up with her favorite toy. My other cat is walking around looking for her and I keep apologizing to her saying sister isn't coming home. In the picture smudge is the calico and allspice is the torti.

I’m so sorry you had to go through this. My dog I have had for 15 years as a service dog at that might be put down this week so I understand. One thing someone said to me that helped is to celebrate the good life you gave them and cherish those memories rather than mourn the future you wanted with them. This wasn’t your fault and was unavoidable. You did what was best for her and that’s what good cat moms do. Easier said than done. Sending hugs
