I didn"t have acne growing up. I got acne for the first time beginning in my late 20s. My dermatologist prescribed spiranolactone a a very low dose of sub microbial doxycycline.
@Naz - you can still become pregnant throughout perimenopause. https://www.mymenopausecentre.com/gp-resources/choosing-contraception-during-the-menopause-transition/ The Mirena IUS is often used as part of HRT and to give womb protection when using oestrogen therapy.
Hello 😊 Whilst the Mirena takes a little while to settle for some, the effects of the progestogen are fairly localised, so unless you were particularly sensitive to progesterone then the symptoms you describe *might* not be attributable to that. Oestrogen is usually the hormone that needs replacing/topping up, particularly for those experiencing early symptoms at a relatively young age such as yourself. Indeed, the symptoms you mention here are often due to oestrogen fluctuations/low levels. I would speak to your clinician about using a *regulated* Bio-identical HRT (AKA Body-identical HRT in the UK and elsewhere), such as oestrogen gel, spray, or patches. 🩷
