me too! i’ve also got gestational diabetes so had to pack healthy boring snacks lol. but my mums got a naughty snacks bag to bring for after babys born and i can eat again hehe. i’ve packed some crackers, protein bars , crisps and some rice cakes. most boring snacks in the world lol

I took cereal bars. Then those little individually wrapped waffles/croissants/pancakes etc from the breakfast isle. It’s not actually the sort of thing I’d normally eat at home but it’s good as you can open the pack without worrying about the others going stale, especially if you’re in for a few days. I also took some fresh fruit, grapes were great as they’re so hydrating too.

You’ll get fed in the hospital both breakfast, lunch and dinner and can request toast at any point through the day! I’d suggest lucozade though if you’re being induced! Was a life saver for me as soon as you go into active labour (have your waters broken) it’s a no eat zone x

@Beth you can still eat in active labour, no one can stop you.

@Charley induction it’s highly recommended not to and advised against it incase of any complications or the need for any further intervention x

@Beth highly recommended and not allowed are not the same thing

I ate nothing out of my bag (my partner ate the lot) it was a long process but drank isotonic drinks

@Beth thankyou, I’m a nurse who works in a hospital so know you get fed 3 meals a day but also know how awful the food can be 😂 not saying all are as bad as where I work though. So just wanted some ideas of snacks people found good whilst waiting for things to properly kick off cause I’m aware it could take days for my situation - but hoping not!

@Lauren thank you some of these are fab ideas! Xx

@Kate thank you! Boring but essential 😂 hope it all goes well for you lovely xx

I’ve got some flapjacks, lucozade sport, hula hoops, chocolate biscuits and sweets. Probably not the healthiest haul, but it’s all non perishable and stuff I know if easy to have a mouthful of in the moment. I’ve also packed some little chocolate brioche as our hospital’s breakfast options aren’t great, and I want to have something I know that I’ll enjoy ☺️

Lucazade sport, cereal bars and dried mango.

Not sure what the equivalent is called in the UK but in Australia we have these drinks called “up n go” which is basically a sweet drink designed to replace breakfast. They’re filling and r taste so good, made a great snack in hospital
