Pregnancy pillows

When is the time to start using these I’m only 16 weeks but my sides are starting to ache and last night I kept dreaming my sides were being pulled, is now the time for extra support?

I’m coming up 14 weeks and used one last night for the first time

Honestly think I got mine at about 12 weeks 🤣

There is no right time to get one but I’d be shocked if you didn’t want it at all through your pregnancy. Get it now, you can always put it aside if you choose it’s not helping but you’ll most likely want it as your bump grows! I can’t remember when I got mine, was quite early I think. But I used it for a while then hated it and now at 24weeks I cannot sleep without it! I got a BBhugme incase you’re then going to want recommendations. You can get them much cheaper on vinted and can wash the covers!

I got mine really early, before 12 weeks I think as I was on some medication that made me achey anyway. I’ve used it in different ways as I’ve gone along. I got the bb hug me off vinted and more recently I got a wedge to go under the bump x

Whenever you feel you need it and are starting to feel uncomfortable is the right time, or even before that to be fair. This is my second pregnancy and I’ve been using mine from about 10 weeks.

The NHS says 28 weeks and honestly by the end me and OH hated the pillow. Once you are really big it feels restrictive and OH called it the divorce pillow 😂 If I had my time again I would wait to 28 weeks

Whenever you feel you need it. If not for your bump, it helps to have the extra support for your legs and back as discomfort and aches can start early on! X

Best advice I can give you with pregnancy pillows is shop on Vinted and get them cheap. I had one that cost me 15 quid. Never got on with it. Then got a dream genii which was 10 times better but it's worth 50 quid. Got it for a 5er on Vinted and washed the cover. I'm now 37 weeks, I cannot get on with either of them. Neither of them have been used that much and I'm just glad I didn't pay too much for them! They've both been dumped elsewhere in the house now. Tbh. Moving in bed is hard enough at this point nevermind adding in a pillow to contend to. I think it would end up being thrown into the front lawn at 3am.

I have been using one since about 18 weeks, but actually getting a softer mattress topper as been more comfortable for my sleep now that I'm restricted to side sleeping!

Using a pregnancy pillow for extra support could be a great idea to help with those aches. It's awesome that you're thinking ahead about your comfort. Give that pregnancy pillow a try and see if it helps with your side pain and those vivid dreams. Sweet dreams!

As soon as you feel you need it, why wait?
