It is not common for it to have errors, you can rest assured
Did u take the sneak peak or the blood draw from your doc office
If you want to be really certain wait for your 20 week anatomy scan I had my NIPT at 11.5weeks an it’s a boy they say when they say it’s a girl it can possibly be wrong but it’s always right when it’s a boy .. good luck 🍀
@Keshawn blood draw at the docs office
Mine said it was atypical
Wait for your 20 weeks anatomy scan I’m hoping it’s a girl if that’s what u want luv ☺️
@Keshawn I’ve heard that before! I will be for certain 3 days before my bday thank you!
@Ashley wow never heard of that
I've also heard that a boy result is 99% accurate but a girl result sometimes can have errors. I did the blood draw and the way my doctor explained it is that for a boy result a y chromosome showed up which I do not have one of those so it's a boy. A girl though sometimes the blood of yours and the baby would get confused or have some cross contamination causing an error. But what I heard it's pretty accurate for both gender! I have a friend who got a girl result is 6 weeks away from due date and it was correct!
NIPT error is extremely rare; it's only going to be wrong if there is some sort of error in the testing (highly unlikely) or the fetal fraction is low and the very low chance it doesn't detect a Y chromosome. I've never heard of it being wrong, but nothing is 100%. I wouldn't hold my breath for the anatomy scan to change anything. Everyone used to have to wait for that, and that's when it was way more common for the sex to be misidentified.
NIPT will not be wrong for gender. its over 99% accurate
