I work from home but my baby is in daycare. There have been a few days when he was sick and home with me and it was extremely difficult to get anything done

I work from home and we have the grandmothers and my husband take care of her while I work and I just feed her when she needs it. Anytime I try to get anything done with her (when the grandmothers are running late or leave early) it is impossible and I just sign back online once she goes to bed.

@Annie @Sarah wow ok so it’s really impossible to work with baby, gotta start looking into daycare I guess

I’m the same as Annie and Sarah along with every work from home mom I know. Someone else has to take care of the baby or you won’t get any actual work done. The benefits though are you can choose to have the childcare provider in your own home, you can take breaks for feedings, and you don’t need to travel too/from work and do drop offs and pickups for baby if the nanny is coming to you. There’s also less likelihood of baby bringing home colds, lice, HFM, chickenpox, Covid, the flu..

I wfh, I'm extremely lucky in that my job is ok with me working when I can, which means during naps, while breast feeding, and for a tiny amount of independent play before she starts fussing. I'm lucky if I can get 3 hours of work done a day, so I'm not making anywhere near as much as I was before

I have a sitter come to our house 3 days a week, but those 2 days I’m on my own have been extremely difficult and I get nothing done. So we are looking to starting 5 days a week. My baby also does mostly contact naps which makes it hard for meetings when I’m on camera. Another reason why I want more care at the home is because even though my baby has all her toys, she’s constantly watching me work and staring at my screen which I don’t love. WFH and taking care of baby full time can work depending on baby and type of job, it just unfortunately hasn’t worked for me.

I did work from home 1 month pp and it worked for a little while but was exhausting I’d recommend part time
