Mat leave and Universal Credit
Is it poss to apply for universal credit while on mat leave. I know once I go down to half pay I will struggle and wanted to see if I can claim some sort of benefits to help top me up.

I used the website ‘entitled to’ to figure out what I’d get first x
Yea but UC is only granted in full if you are making less than £600 odd per month.. I’m not sure of the exact amount, then for anything over that amount they decuct 55p for every £1 made

Absolutely 💯 I applied one month before my money dropped to statutory mat pay and received a fair amount! Enough to keep me going and have a full year off rather than go back around 8-9 months. I didn’t get any the first month as my pay was too high (which I knew) but then got it the following months. Life saver. Now I’m back full time my allowance has gone back to zero again and you just update them when you go back to work xx
