When you started working after babies

Hey so I haven’t been working in the last 3 years as I have no family who can take care of my daughter if I was to go to work and if I did start I would be working to pay childcare. I just wanted to know those of you that didn’t go back to work what did you do? How do you afford to stay home And those of you that went back to work also how did you do it? I need some sort of income but I have no one to look after my daughter. She attends pre school 3 days a week but I cannot find for for just 5hrs I also have a 1 year old and I’m just looking for some advice. Any advice welcome. Thank you

I work from home mostly out of office hours, I went back when Feb 22 baby was four months, and also had a baby this March and went back in June (that was too early 😴). I understand and relate, we have no family around us, and I did not work for a couple of years after having twins, but in London we need two salaries ;( Do you think you can work from home/start a job where you can?

I have always been a hairdresser but working in Mayfair. These days I haven’t got time to go to peoples houses or vise versa. I wouldn’t know where to start with work from home. Where do you start to look I really need my own money as times are getting harder I just feel stuck where to start

Hi I went back when my baby was 9 months with my eldest and youngest, beacuse I'm on a low income I get help with childcare costs from universal credit x

Do you work the usual 9-5? Are they at child care for that long? And is it all week? X

I'm in a similar situation where I've been trying to figure out what kind of work I can do vs the little time my son is at nursery. I'm finding it incredibly hard finding work that would work around my situation. I'm aware that there are workplaces that do flexitime, compressed hours etc but it's finding it in the first place 😔 So not really advice as such, but wanted to say you're not alone.

Yes usual 9-5 with an early finish on a Friday. I've just gone back to 5 days a week, I was just doing mon-thurs. It's a long time but he enjoys it X

@Electra It is super hard trying to find something even just for them few hours they’re at nursery even when full school starts it’s still the hours of getting them to school and work how is it even possible! I just can’t get my head around it or seem to find anything

I know...tell me about it 😔 I genuinely can't figure it out atm either. The only way around it would be if there was family to help at this point, but that's not possible in my situation either. Keep thinking I missing something because how are so many others doing it?!

This!! Exactly this 😓
