Thought it was braxton hicks .. was in active labour!

I posted yesterday (incognito) about whether braxton hicks could be regular all day or not. Went to triage for a different reason and mentioned I had been having period pains all day getting worse. It started that afternoon with lower backache and constant mild period pain. Then by early evening the period pain started coming in waves (but still mild). Turns out I was 3cm dilated and then proceeded to be 10cm and baby out 2.5 hours later! No time for any pain relief and he came out in the pool! At 37+0! I was convinced he’d be late as .. I’d had no signs. No mucus plug, no waters, no BH, no cramping, not engaged. Nothing at all!! Had a tear that needed stitches but otherwise dream birth really..! I’d even driven myself to hospital telling my partner I’d be back for dinner 😅. 1-2 hours later I was baying on the floor in the labour ward convulsing and pushing uncontrollably ! 5lbs 11 🥹

Awww amazing story love! Congratulations on your bundle of joy

That was like me so I was in labour for 25 hours but 21 hours I didn’t think it was labour lol got to the hospital and then found out i was 4cm dilated and them and hour later my LB was here. My LB was born in August x

Omg congrats!! Such a beautiful baby🥹 what other symptoms did you experience before going! I’ve been having what I think are braxton hicks for like 24/36 hours and I’m soooo uncomfortable!

What a peanut! 🥜 I labored for 5 days at home. I couldn’t have asked for a better one and only birth! Water broke day 5 and baby was born within 3 hrs of walking into L& D Congratulations

Congratulations 😮❤️ he’s so beautiful

Congratulations🥳🩵 I didn’t even know I was in labor let alone having contractions so I went back to sleep only to be woken up by them😭 drove myself to the hospital and had my 6lb 1oz girl that same day only to be born 7 minutes before her due date😂

Awwww congratulations

Congratulations and all the best 😍

@Yas thank you everyone. Struggling with feeding & jaundice & haven’t slept for 2 nights. Can I put him back in 🥲 joking lol Yas I had no other symptoms at all just ‘period pain’ which then began to come in stronger & stronger waves. Before I realised they were actually contractions, I was already gone 3cm I’d personally describe real labour contractions as like bad period pains that come in waves and get progressively worse
