I try to eat healthy and focus on getting protein, fats and carbs in at every meal but lately I’ve been focusing on getting my body back, so maybe I do need to listen a bit more to what my body is asking for and bump up my meals a bit.
Do you have your period?
Yes! I’ve had three cycles since giving birth although it’s been irregular. My cycle went from 45 days to 28 in the last cycle. I thought I’d be able to catch ovulation by testing every day but still haven’t had any luck.
I’ve never used the strips, so I’m not sure how accurate they are. Usually you would have ovulate 14 days before getting period. If you had a regular cycle of 28 days, you’d know it’s bang in the middle of the 2 periods. Did you have any issues conceiving the first time? You could try to track your period by checking your temperature every day (it goes up when you are ovulating), also if you notice you have a bit more discharge and your libido increases.
Thank you for all of this! Yes! I’m going to keep tracking the length of my cycle, discharge and libido too and hope for the best. Tracking my temperature has been difficult for me because I’m often getting up quite early to feed my baby and put her back to sleep and I don’t remember to take my temperature before getting out of bed to feed her. We didn’t have trouble getting pregnant the first time but my doctor said it might not be the case the second time around so I thought I’d go about it a bit more methodically this time to increase our chances. I went to the doctor recently for something else and the doctor didn’t recommend using the strips because she said they can be tricky. We will just keep trying around my estimated ovulation. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Thank you again for your responses and I’ll hopefully be able to have a happy update sometime.
FYI on temping if you do decide to do that. Your temperature goes up AFTER you ovulate. It's caused by the increase in progesterone. Just wanted to clarify there. But I agree with you that it would be hard to get an accurate temp with frequent waking in the night unless you get something like the tempdrop armband.
Thank you @Ángeles and @Taylor for your tips!
What do you mean by "balanced diet"? A lot of women don't eat enough food and especially enough fats to support their hormones. If you are still breastfeeding, then you need to eat even more.
