Can straight newborn hair turn curly ?

Hi my baby girl is 5 weeks old and I’m white (mum) and her dad is black Caribbean. He has tight course thick Afro curls and I have dead straight natural hair. Our daughters hair is straight & my partners family have said it always goes curly even when it comes out Straight? My partner mum said he had straight as a newborn. Whatever her hair is I don’t care I just want to educate myself on looking after it if it does get like her dads. Has anyone else experienced this ? Thanks

Yes my sons took 3-4 months to get its curl x

Hey yes it will definitely curl at some point and you will just need to learn her hair as it grows because so many different textures and products. I'm currently using Nalas baby products in my 5 months old hair and been using it since birth.

Yes of course it’s too soon yet but in a few months you will start to see the hair curling when it grows x

yeah my twins were born with pin straight hair and then at 8 months POOF! Curls all over the place.

Yes! It takes a few months babe xx

My LO hair was straight until be was about 5/6 months and now it’s curly x

Yes, my son's hair has just started to curl and he is 7 months

Yes for sure! Both of my kids came out with straight hair and didn’t curl till they were like 1.

I'm Colombian. Dad is white. My son was born with dead straight hair that fell out and became curly like mine.

Yes. My son is white and Dominican. His hair was pin-straight and shiny black. It is now curly brown. But it’s like 3A hair. Where his dad is like 4B

Yes my daughter had straight hair until she was 10/11 months old. Now she has spiral curls like Shirley temple. One of my nieces had straight hair as a baby and it’s still straight and she’s 30yrs old. There’s no guarantee it’ll be straight or curly.

Yes mama my half Puerto Rican baby got her curls after it grew. Invest in the products immediately because we struggle with her hair

Yup!! Here is my daughter as an infant and then my daughter as a 3yr old (on the right), (my kids are biracial)
