Non stress test

Have to go in today to do a non stress test due to baby movement decrease. Anyone failed the non stress test and what happens after? I’m 39 weeks on Halloween.

Hi! I had this happen with my first. She failed it (scored 2/8, very low) and was rushed in for emergency c-section. That is worse case scenario though, I just wasn’t able to eat breakfast that day and she was sluggish from that. She came out just fine thought - we were 3 days overdue! Good luck mama ❤️

I haven’t had this experience but im wondering what a non stress test entails exactly? So im following

@Carly I was nervous about the test at first. It’s super calming. You lay with a “belt” of sorts on your belly. 2 monitors. One for baby’s heart and one for your uterine activity. It lasts 20 minutes. They look for certain activity in baby’s heart rate. If they don’t see it, they’ll do an additional 20 minute test. I’ve never failed the 2nd 20 minutes, but they said I’d go to l&d for additional monitoring if I did. Not sure what that part looks like. Super easy and nothing to be worried about.
