Postnatal c-section

I had my little girl last Thursday and everything went well. No complications etc. I was on the maternity ward for 4 days. I thought I was feeling 'spaced out' just because of the medication. Been home for 2 days now and I'm still feeling the same with the odd times of palpations throughout the days and I'm not taking the pain meds to see if it was them but still feeling the same. Wondering if anyone else had the same feeling after their section. My BP was borderline high throughout my stay at the hospital but no medication was required to sort it out. They just monitored it. Feeling confused on what I should do about it...

I had my boy Friday and the last few days every now and then I get fuzzy like I wouldn’t say dizzy but almost as I’m not with it Could be due to hormones?

Did they check your iron levels ?

I was told to contact triage if I had amy concerns as I was still under their care for 6 weeks.

I remember feeling similar when I had my first c section and it did fade over time. If in doubt get checked out. I was also low on vitamin D and iron after having my baby.

@Caroline no. I didn't get any bloods done after the section to check anything

@Emily I did not either. I think they only do it in certain cases.

They checked my blood, blood pressure and urine a good few times and I was in hospital for 2 days after my c section last year.

@Nicole nope. Never had any checks like that. Just the usual obs and was in for 4 days 🤷‍♀️ they were checking my babies bloods frequently but that was it

Definitely ring triage and explain how you feel, they should check your iron. I was spaced out with palpitations after my section and had to have iron.

I also had my baby already due to preeclampsia via c section and stayed at the hospital for 5 days. For me they were making blood tests often, also giving meds for high bp. I would say that if you're bp is still high and you don't take meds than maybe that's why. It is also dangerous as I was explained as a woman can have preeclampsia even up to few months after giving birth. I would say to not leave it like this
