If youâve heard the term âepisiotomy,â you may be wondering what it really means for your birth experience. đ¤ An episiotomy is a surgical cut made to help with delivery, but did you know itâs not always necessary? In some cases, it can lead to more discomfort and a longer recovery than a natural tear. đŹ
The good news? You have options! Being informed about your choices during delivery can help you make the best decision for your body and your babyâs arrival. đ

I didn't know that this is something that I had to consent too! I had an assisted birth with my firstborn & I had a forceps delivery. I just remember being exhausted from failure to get my daughter out by pushing. The doctor wanted to try forceps & I'd had no epidural or, pain killers. I literally felt everything! Even with the numbing stuff, I felt cut & the forceps being inserted.
