Can you roll any leave over too?
My contract says "work a minimum of 122 hours" so I don't think I can take annual leave to offset that?
I’m not NHS but local authority and I know that we can’t use annual leave as part of your notice!
@Laura i think that depends on the authority. I'm LA too and I'm sure you can here.
I’m NHS too! Planning to leave after the 3 months and my line manager thinks I can used the leave I have left to cover some of those 3 months! I’m still to hear back from here as I went on leave July 2024 and planning to return to work in April 2025 so I need to know if I can carry over the AL from 2024 or not (I think I still have something like 3 weeks)
Use * Her* Sleep deprivation is real 😱
Mums that are leaving the NHS after the 3 month period (same as what I’m planning to do) what are your plans for when you finish? Are you going to be a stay at home mum? And how are you going to be coping with income? I am definitely going to be a SAHM but so worried aboht income 😩
I know my trust wouldn’t allow this, only Bcos any AL over 2 weeks has to be approved by the matron and can only use it as a chunk if I only had the amount of weeks left before I returned that the AL matched, but I’m in wales. Couldn’t you, have 10 months Mat leave, 8 weeks AL to take to the end of March, notice in, 3 weeks working and possibly some AL?
@Emily I’m hoping to do some agency work instead of being permanent 🤞
Check your contract and contact hr some companies allow annual leave to be used as notice others don’t and state a minimum number of days to actually be worked but 100% carry over your annual leave you may also be entitled to kit days
I believe that could work. I also considered the same as taken maternity leave Feb 24-April 25 so have a year of AL to use. However I’ve moved trust and part of me does want to go back to see how it is (midwife) and I think my daughter will thrive at nursery. So going back at the moment to cover the OMP side of it all but can always leave if I wanted. I would speak to your manager/HR dep!
