Working Mamas

Hi all. My work have been really shitty with me prior to mat leave. I’m not eligible for any pay so have nothing I owe them if I don’t go back. Does anyone know of any work from home jobs? I’m based in West Yorkshire. I need to focus on my family but can’t afford not to work as won’t be entitled to my sons nursery fees x

I'm sorry to hear that 🙁 what kind of jobs are you looking for

So sorry you’re experiencing such poor treatment. Might be worth checking out this group on Facebook. The work from home hub post a lot of remote roles in the UK https://www.facebook.com/share/1J8XCDFSHM/?mibextid=LQQJ4d

Thank you! And honestly anything. Just need to earn £1500 a month so UC don’t put me in the work search group xx

Have you checked sites like https://www.remoteworker.co.uk/?

Hi. Unfortunately It is impossible to work from home as a new mum. And you’ll find it had if not non existent for people to employ you because of how far along you are and reliability. Your best bet is maybe try and find something you’re good at and start your own company UC won’t out you on the work search list as you have had a baby, you can get maternity allowance from the government I believe. You are only eligible for may pay from an employer if you have worked there for 2 years or more, at least you don’t have to pay them anything and you don’t need to return if you don’t want to.

@Charlotte really depends on the company, the place I work at is fully remote and very accommodating to new parents

The best thing would be just to start your own business and be your own boss. I'm a self-employed social media manager since before my son was born and its worked out great as I can work whenever from home so if there's days I can't work I just don't. If you maybe have a skill you're good at you might want to offer it freelance.

My work doesn’t pay maternity leave either but I like the option that I don’t owe them anything if I decide to leave x
