@Elizabeth before Tylenol: falling asleep, cuddly..... after Tylenol: party! Jumping off the couch, running around, wanting to get into everything
I disagree haha. It helps my kids sleep
My son is usually the opposite he’s feral biting things (teething) and when he has Tylenol he can get some slee
Can’t relate. Helps my sons pain= relaxed; sleepy
We went to the hospital last night around 10. He was almost asleep while we were waiting in triage. We get to the room and they give him Tylenol he's wide awake, jumping on the bed, trying to reach for all equipment, playing hide and seek with the curtains.... Tylenol starts to wear off around 12:30 while I'm waiting to be assessed, he falls right to sleep
And this is every time we give him Tylenol
@Ellie well it could be the ingredients in that specific Tylenol and also maybe he was only sleepy because of the pain making him feel weak and now that he’s better it makes him have energy and make him feel better. Tylenol usually takes a lil bit to kick in and last more than a couple hours so I don’t think it was wearing off when he fell asleep. He probably burned the extra energy boost from feeling better off and fell right asleep because he was finally comfortable.
@Kianna this is every single time we give Tylenol. We have to give it to him 2-3 hrs before he goes to bed and if we have to give overnight, one of us has to stay up for the next few hours until he goes back to sleep
@Ellie well like I said in my previous comment. It’s probably a rush from not being in pain anymore or it could be the ingredients from that specific Tylenol. I give my son a dye free one with no flavor and it’s made a difference. I also usually don’t encourage staying up. I’d try comforting him and telling him it’s time for bed after a bit of running around.
@Kianna doesn't happen with advil or motrin
@Ellie well maybe it’s the ingredients in the Tylenol like I’ve been mentioning? I don’t think this is a common experience with anyone.
I would even maybe bring it up to his paediatrician and see if they have heard of that or have any concerns
