I didn’t know about any food recalls!! I stocked up just a couple days ago to! How do I get a list of recalls?? Xx
does there happen to be a natural grocers or whole foods around you?
Do you mean purées or food in general?
are you worried about packaged foods? surely whole foods should be fine
@Taz it's whole foods that are being recalled a lot right now actually
@Evie there’s instagram accounts that post daily food recalls and such
So my local Costco recalled baby carrots specifically from a farm in CA. But here’s what you need to know. Your state health department might have a page where you can sign up for alerts about recalls. Listeria is the biggest risk, but listeria affects RAW foods and dies off when foods are properly handled and cooked. Just offer baby cooked or pasteurized foods until you find a trusted source for those raw foods. But depending on baby’s age they might not be eating raw foods yet. A lot of these recalls have been on deli meats, raw cheeses and dairy, and very little produce. But this is largely avoided with cooking.
Where are you? UK or?
There's been a lot of American food recalls recently. Not so much UK.... Most prominent in America currently is ground beef due to an ecoli risk. Most of it is from specific companies. Main one in UK has been mustard due to a peanut contaminant I think we just need to make sure what we eat is cooked properly and at our end prepped the best we can
Is anyone else worried about this?
