Bp

Does bp go up a little towards the end of pregnancy here? I don’t know if it’s my anxiety. I’m a FTM. I check my bp at home and my normal is around 110/65. Past few days it’s been around 120-130s/70s-80s. It’s giving me such bad anxiety that I’ve been crying on and off for days. And of course I can’t tell if the bp is result of anxiety or something more. I take Protien strips at home and have had no Protien in urine and no swelling. I also have a cold! So I’m not sure if that could be it.

Mine has definitely gone up during pregnancy (increased blood volume), but my providers aren’t concerned since it’s still well below pre-eclampsia readings. They also have encouraged me not to take it at home since the digital readings aren’t always calibrated/accurate. Are your doctors making you feel concerned about your readings? Have they done a lab work up to see where you’re at and to get baseline data? I’d ask more questions of your drs about it to give you peace of mind. You’re doing a great job and so close to meeting baby!

Yea definitely BP goes up towards the end. My blood pressure is always at 120/80 but since i hit 36 weeks it has been in 136/77 (something around there. My doctor said that if it’s more than 140/90 is considered high. And if its over 160/100 is an emergency. Hope this helps you. I have chronic hypertension And Ive been studying a lot of this. Try to relax, it could be your anxiety that is spiking your blood pressure. 🙏🩷

@Sarah I actually just have a private midwife as of 20ish weeks pregnant! I’ve been low risk so it’s been nice to have her just come to my house and listen to baby. I have not gotten lab work since I have no other symptoms really. No swelling or protein in urine

@Karina thank you for this. It definitely helps. Mine has not gotten over 140/90 but gets close when I’m anxious 🫣

Those are absolutely normal blood pressures. Don't worry mama.
