@Barbara I'll have a look at that, thank you. X
Weaning the BLW way is a great group to join on fb. Start with the main allergens first, one a day. I started BLW with my little boy Saturday and his first meal was a fried egg. You’re more than welcome to give me a wave, I can see waves so I’ll wave back and you can message me about it❤️
The solid starts app is great as well!
I did BLW with my first and now with my second. I followed a lot of advice online especially from Solid Starts on their IG page and I got the Simple and Safe Baby Led Weaning book from Amazon. I followed the rule of same single food for 2 days in a row before moving onto the next one cause sometimes allergies may not be instant to show. But otherwise it's mainly about safe preparation of food so they're not a choking hazard. Both my kids love BLW as they get to explore food on their own and the textures do also help with teething. And to answer your question, no, babies don't need any teeth for BLW as their gums are strong enough to chew
I do a mix of BLW and purées and have done for about a month and I now feel way more confident giving more solid foods. I think some of the first things I tried were toast, cucumber and carrots.
I just give my baby what were having for dinner, and during the day I give her things to try. So today she turned 6 months and she had yogurt and pear for breakfast, some cucumber and strawberries to try when my toddler had lunch and then chicken curry for dinner!
My baby won’t reach for things and is struggling with texture and cold items, she was showing signs of wanting food then stopped when we started feeding her 😫
@Elena this is what I want to do, she's been having purees for a while now but I want to introduce more solids, she has melty puffs for a snack but I want to try more. I never did Blw with my other kids, so it's all new to me.
Well I've given her cucumber and toast to try and she's loved it. Thanks everyone
I did a post earlier today recommending the app “BLW meals: how to start solid foods” it gives you all the information you need, there is a video showing how to offer and everything
