It's money coming in so it is income, no? Whether you qualify for universal credit will depend on a variety of things including your savings and household income. So it's quite a personal thing!
I’m a single parent who received Statutory Maternity Pay and was topped up with Universal Credit so ended up getting a similar amount to my full wage each month. It would depend on your circumstances like the others said but just wanted to throw an example that it may be possible!
Maternity pay is classed as an income… Are you receiving statutory maternity or maternity allowance?
@N 💞 maternity allowance
If it's Maternity allowance you're on then universal credit take it off £ for £ from what you'd be eligible for. It's a really stupid system.
Can’t get it if on maternity allowance x
I receive maternity allowance and universal credit :)
Like Zoe said if you’re MA it’s deducted £ for £ so although yes you’re still eligible it won’t actually make much difference
I received both☺️ it depends on your personal circumstances
Thanks everyone ☺️
I receive maternity pay & universal credit x
Who told you that? Have you checked the website entitled to? You might still be eligible if your maternity pay is under a threshold.
