@Jessie the picture in the comments appears that initially you chose 18 months but changed to 12 months. That's the standard vs extended leave
If you chose 18 months and your partner chose 12, that might be why it changed because you both have to pick the same thing.
@Kai THANK YOU! I was confused about the maternity pay part, because I worked right up until my due date, and baby was born the next day. I thought maternity leave was only when Mom is pregnant? So confusing. I will call them, just hate making calls honestly.
@Jessie yeah. It's definitely confusing. I totally get the calls thing, I hate it too
It happened to me too, that just means that your maternity benifits got to the full weeks and so in order to keep paying you they changed to parental
If you call them, they can explain it to you on the phone in detail. You can give them the claim number, and they can give you exact dates. It honestly didn't take me long to get a person when I called before. Based on your picture, you two are going back on different dates. You get 15 maternity, plus you said you're taking half of the 40 weeks, which is 20 weeks, so you get a total of 35 weeks, which is 8 months 3 weeks, which means roughly end of April or beginning of May your paid benefits end. Your partner then gets the other 20, which is 5 months, meaning January 11th (ish) is the end of his paid period. That's based on the picture you attached. The claim end date is 1 year after baby's born because that's the latest you can start a parental leave. I do recommend calling them for more specifics, they can access your claim and give you exact dates and explanations.
