Is there a way around this ?

I have a public assistance case, I just got a letter saying I must be working in order to receive public assistance. The thing is I do work, just not on the books. I’m babysitting for a friend 4 days a week and it’s the perfect hrs where I don’t need to put my child in daycare. I can’t tell them I already work so is there anything I can tell them so they won’t make me get a job that’s on the books ?

I do believe you able to tell them you baby sit they will need proof of how much you being paid though

Yes You can tell them you baby sit. All you have to do is write a letter with the information- where you baby sitting - the name of the child and also the mom- how many hours and days - and how much she’s paying - and how is the payment. And you have to put her number and have her sign Now. It can’t be more the I believe 1thousand. If I’m not mistaken

Are you applying for only ebt/food stamps or cash assistance too?

Yes or just say you volunteer babysitting

So they wont find out its off the books

Have the babysittee write you voulnteer and its unpaid

Put child in daycare , get a part time paid job with less hours

I use to do the samw thing where i was getting public assistance and snap and i worked part time at a retail store and the other job was off the books

Matter of fact dont even let them know about the off the books job

Put baby in daycare Just find a paying job part time
