Literally just about to come on and write this same post! I tried to get him to go down for his first nap this morning on his own using the pick up put down idea but he got so worked up after 45 minutes of trying that I just had to have him on me in the end as felt he was way past being able to self settle at that point. I’m scared that him not being able to self settle though is setting us up for a fail as the nights and weeks of the regression go on! Don’t know whether to continue with dummy or what either!
How did it go for you?? Just seen this was posted 3 months ago. Did you make it out alive? Change anything? Do anything to help?
I'm pretty sure it's the 4 month regression. My (now) 4 month old was exactly the same. Pretty much bang on 3 months her sleep patterns changed. The advice I was given by my SIL was to stick with your usual routine (so just give dummy during the extra wakes, and then feed the once like you was before) and eventually it will pass. The middle of the night wakes have stopped for us now, we just get a lot of wakes between 5am - 7am and I'm just persevering with the dummy
