Young mums

I had my little one in October when I was 19 and I turned 20 in the November. All the midwives and health visitors have been absolutely lovely however as soon as my little one went to the gp for his jabs I felt so judged by everyone there! All very cold towards me and talk down to me as if I have no idea what I’m doing. Anyone else experienced this? It’s driving me crazy!

I’m 23 so a tad older than you but feel the exact same. I live in quite a well to do area and the judgey vibe from other mums in the village who are significantly older are not nice at all. I went to the village playgroup and some of the older mums attitudes made me feel so uncomfortable and I’ve not been back. I’m sure you’re doing an amazing job! ❤️

I had my first son at 15 years old and had this exact same feeling at the time! It's awful and can really impact your mental health. What i found helped me was joining a young mums group at the time it was called coram but bear in mind this was 18 years ago! But I'm sure there's loads of teenage mum groups out there x

Honestly I think GP surgeries are just like that with everyone 🤣 I had my first at 15, second at 20 and third at 28 and they've always come across judgy and short x
