Not a GP but I am a midwife. When I was pregnant I just didn’t see any patients who were unwell with anything contagious. Other than that not much else 😂 you really have to look after yourself in the nhs and make sure you’re getting the breaks you need etc, speak up if you’re not.
I'm not a GP but I'm a teacher, so I worked in an environment with lots of germs! My experience is that if you don't ask, you don't get. Employers will let you carry on if you don't raise anything. Keep them updated of any changes, such as blood pressure etc. I did this and they took me off break and lunchtime duties straight away. I was also put on the vulnerable staff list so that I was kept informed of any cases of illnesses which were dangerous to pregnant women. I'm not sure where it gets to the point that you might need a medical note, for example, working from home or adjustments to your hours. I know that a colleague of mine needed a doctor's letter to ensure she had one day off per week due to extreme hyperemesis. I would talk to whoever does the risk assessments at your practice and go from there.
I’m a pharmacy tech in a GP surgery and I was pregnant at the same time as one of the GP’s the only thing she didn’t do was see anyone with any suspicious rashes, Covid, chicken pox etc
