I have nothing yet and I am 20 weeks now too I am not panicking yet as we still have loads of time and now there is loads of free next day deliveries so we have enough of time I don’t even know where to start the search of what is needed
still have lots of time to get things ready, this is my second and i’m dreading giving birth again but it’s got to come out somehow😭
You have loads of time. No need to panic. Babies don’t need half as much as what you think they do! Clothing. You just need a few bits in each size like bodysuits, sleepsuits and outfits. I’d probs say up to 10 of each. Depending on how often you are going to do washing! Don’t go mad! They outgrow so quickly. Vinted is good for bundles! Sleeping stuff. So sheets. Mattress protector. Cellular blanket. Night light for night feeds. Feeding. Are you planning to BF or bottle feed? That will determine what you need for that. Travel system. Car seat. A bouncer or swinging chair. Play mat. Cleaning. Baby bath. Changing mat. Organiser (I had one that hangs on the side of cot) I’d say that’s the basics.
I’m 21 weeks on Friday, I have purchased absolutely nothing for this baby (2nd) and was in the same position for my first. Don’t panic, you’ve got loads of time and I always like to wait til I’ve had my 20 week scan for everything to be confirmed okay; which it was 🥰 I’m gonna start buying bits slowly now that I need extra x
Trust me, babies do not need a lot of stuff. They grow quickly so do not spend a lot of money buying any one thing. This is my second, I have few zip up onesies and baby vests for each age size. So 0-3, 3-6, 6-9 I’m having another girl so do not need to buy much. They need somewhere safe to sleep and a car seat. Reusing my older child’s next to me crib and this time we are going for a doona. I used a hand me down from me sister last time and it was perfectly fine. If you are breastfeeding then great but I would still get a couple of bottles, 1 can baby food. Rest things like, blanket, bibs, socks, muslins, hats- you can get 2-3 of each and see how you go and can always get more later. Things like thermometer, sound machine, breast pump, night light, bath seat are nice to haves depending on your needs.
I have absolutely nothing yet 🙈 x
I’m 22 weeks and I haven’t bought a single thing yet and don’t plan to until 30 weeks🥰 There is loads of baby events during January but I’d start by doing lists or finding list online to give you a guildline and pick which sort of style item you’d like or what bottles, sterilisers etc you’d prefer :) xx
I am 21 weeks and so far we have lots of clothes 😂 also bought plenty of muslins and people have gifted us lots of towels and blankets but we still need to buy the big stuff like the cot and pram etc. Im not too worries as I know there is plenty of time
Well I have plenty of stuff - car seat, pram, breast pump and other stuff I’ve got during Black Friday deals. Which will be sitting in boxes collecting dust for 20 more weeks, ha ha.
Try not to worry, like everyone else says, you do still have loads of time. It just doesn't feel like it, especially with your first as time just flies by. Keep an eye on offers for things. I don't know if you'll have it already but the app Emma's Diary has a lot of offers on different things, might be worth a look. Baby Events in shops are great too. I found the amazon baby wishlist pretty good as well. Making lists at this point made me feel better. Everything from what you need for baby to what you need for you (hospital bag etc). Just makes everything a bit clearer in your head and you can chip away at it over the next few months x
I’m 20 weeks and have only started buying, with my first I majorly panicked but actually the stuff I founded out I really needed was after they were born I would recommend vinted. And zip up sleepsuits for nighttime as make your life easier.
I have everything however I’m still breast feeding and co sleeping with my 14 month old and physically don’t know how I’ll manage another baby in 4 months 😂
I am yet to do everything but it is baby number 2 so it will be easier this time around. With baby number 1 we never bought anything before the 20 weeks scan. Make yourself a list of what you need to acquire, ask advice from family or friends if you have no ideas and slowly buy. Check when the baby events in supermarkets etc are as this is good for getting cheaper stuff. Vinted is good too as most people buy far too much for their baby and you can find new clothes at affordable prices.
