Hormonal imbalance

Curious to know if anyone has had bad hormonal imbalance after having their baby? My LB is my first and my moods is all over the place, I feel shit and I don't know what's going on. I feel angry a lot of the time too....life's been difficult lately but, I can't help but, feel like something is wrong with me.....has anyone else felt like this or been to the GP about this kind of problem? And have they taken you seriously/managed to help at all?

I did, and it developed into PPD (not to scare you!). I just couldn't regulate my emotions, had severe separation anxiety from my husband and cried literally every day for the first 4 weeks. It was a really rough time and I wished that someone had told me how emotional and utterly useless I was going to feel. Please speak to your midwife or GP about it, and speak to any loved ones that you trust to support you. Hope you're okay đź’ś It does get better, but it just takes a while to settle into your new 'normal' with the baby and youll eventually start to feel a bit more human and like yourself! X

@Gill thank you đź©· my son is 2.5 years now though and it feels like it's getting worse recently....I don't know if it can last that long or not ....I think I'll try the GP though see how that goes

@Gill sorry but is it okay to ask how you managed to get back in control? Just feels like I can snap any second a lot of the time and I hate it..x

I had a weird sort of epiphany when he was about 6 weeks old, and with him sleeping a bit better I was able to get more sleep and that helped massively! I made sure I was getting out of the house and trying to do things for myself too. I think a lot of it was made worse by the birth (didn't go to plan and ended up being quite traumatic). I do still have moments where I feel utterly helpless and lost and feel like I'm about to snap, but I know that those moments will pass and the good days outweigh the bad x
