redundancy & benefits… how & what to claim for?

I am currently 25 weeks pregnant & have been made redundant, my last day was 30 December 2024. I am due mid April so think it’s unlikely I will secure a job now. I am aware I might be able to claim some benefits, however as I have never signed on before, I don’t know what I am entitled too? Can somebody please advise me on what & how I should be applying for?! Any help would be appreciated! Thank you 😔

The benefits calculator here is very helpful: https://www.turn2us.org.uk/

You can claim for universal credit 😊 until you give birth they will likely be asking you to look for a job, but once you've given birth you are moved to a different 'group' and not required to work for 3 years. If you are married, make sure you do it as a joint claim as they will take your partners earnings into the calculations as well 😊

You can claim UC NHS healthy start card they will give for ur first £17 and pregnancy £17 and once u give birth they will give baby £34 so u will be getting £51 monthly
