Nursery payment through government gateway account
Hi ladies, I am due to make first payment to nursery. If they nursery have given me a figure that includes the 15 hours funding for example 500 is that what I pay into the tax free account? Will the government pay me £2 for every £8 I pay and does it go into this account and when? Thanks

I pay in 80% of the nursery cost, and government top up to 100%. Not sure how long it takes, I just check in the next day and forward to the nursery. Just be aware that there is a maximum the government will pay in, I think it’s £500 over 3 months? So you might need to factor that in depending how much your fees are.

We always do that - pay in the actual nursery cost so the gov tops up extra and it means we either pay less the next month or keep some balance on the account for heavy months where we aren’t eligible for the free hours (school holidays) Hope that made sense!
