Dinner after nursery

If you send your LO to nursery do you give them a proper dinner when you get home? My LG has dropped her nap and now I’m struggling to fit in dinner, milk, bath and bed! She has a cold tea at nursery at 4:30 then I used to give her dinner at home at 6 then milk at 7:15 then bath and bed for 8/8:30. But she needs to really be in bed for 6:45 as getting overtired. Do I just give her a bedtime snack and milk when she gets back? Interested to hear what others do x

I do a snack when we get in that’s pretty filling like weetabix. But she’s still napping at nursery so interesting to hear this might change when she drops her nap!

Our nursery gives a healthy hot meal at lunchtime and then sandwiches or something at around 4pm so I don’t give her an evening meal. That being said sometimes she comes home ravenous, even though she usually has second/third helpings at lunch time. I usually do her whatever she asks for, usually toast, when we get in! With regards to the sleep - we’re stuck in the same cycle 😩

Ours has a hot tea at nursery around 15:30. We always offer her dinner in the evening but she rarely eats it. Will usually have yoghurt and some fruit, maybe a crumpet. She's hardly ever in bed before 8pm (dropped her nap months ago and her awake time has now increased dramatically as well)

All the nurseries I've worked in do a hot lunch and cold tea so yes I'd give a meal at home even if its something smaller than a main meal like beans on toast, scrambled egg etc

Thanks everyone for coming back to me. We had beans on toast tonight and managed to do an earlier bedtime! Think we will try the smaller meals / snacks instead going forward!
