When to properly start preparing for baby!

with my first i had already bought the travel system around 16 weeks, my brother purchased our nursery furniture which i can’t remember but was definitely 30 weeks. nappies and wipes i dont think we stocked up on until i was 34 weeks as i got told i was being induced around this time and was told to rest more. buy whenever you can, always compare prices of different sites too and facebook marketplace/vinted is a good place for deals

I’m 22 weeks, This is my second baby, with first I ordered pram at 14 weeks picked it up at 34 weeks and kept it at my parents til we brought baby home. Currently this week, (and all I have got new) I’ve bought a big box of wipes to keep to one side and a pack of size 1 nappies, a pack of 0-3 vests and 1 baby grow, oh and my Milton steriliser 🤣 I’m just getting 1-2 things a week really, adding a pack of nappies or box of wipes, sudacrem or something like that to my weekly food shop so I have a bulk of stuff ready at the end x

With my first. I didn’t get the travel system until probably around 32 weeks. I just didn’t have the storage. Nappies and wipes I’d wait until nearer like 30+ weeks and just grab a couple of each everytime you do a food shop. If you haven’t already, check out Amazon mama wipes. They do it as a subscription and they are the best wipes I’ve found!

I think it was around this time when I started buying big ticket items (car seat, crib etc) for my first. With this one being our second baby, we don't have a lot to buy but the car seat has just arrived today (taking advantage of January sales) and I found a snuzpod cot on Vinted of all places so that's arriving shortly and that's basically it, except for nappies. Could have probably waited a couple of months longer but oh well, at least I won't have to worry about it later 😀 Word of advice, if anyone asks you what to get for the baby say nappies. Newborns go through loads of nappies and when everyone buys you baby clothes you end up with a heap of stuff that never gets used.

I’m 23 weeks and I haven’t bought a single thing… I don’t plan too until end of Feb either 😅

I’m 22 weeks and haven’t bought anything yet, been doing a lot of research and likely start buying bits in February. Trying to deinfluence myself from buying anything without it being necessary!

I have been buying things slowly on sale, whenever there is a sale I been on it. Made a baby registry so that family and friends can buy whenever they are able to. I am not having a baby shower. Cot bed is arriving tomorrow, I am 24 weeks
