What on earth is going on?!

Please tell me someone else is going through this? My wonderful 10-12 hours a night sleeper (since he was 6 weeks old) has become a terrible sleeper. All in time for when I go back to work too šŸ™ƒ I am honestly knackered, this week has been hell. We try to get him down from 8pm but he wonā€™t fall asleep until about 11pm, itā€™s pain staking. Once heā€™s asleep he wakes up every 20 minutes all night then. We ended up giving him a bottle 2am as we didnā€™t know what else to do and he was still waking after it. He finally settled down around 3.30 - 7am. I canā€™t do this, itā€™s not sustainable. Weā€™re up really early as a family as I work 6.30 am - 3.40 pm and the only thing thatā€™s different is that dad is looking after him for one month on his own until baby starts daycare in Feb. Iā€™ve grilled him and asked if heā€™s letting him sleep to much in the day, he swears no. I feel like all the work Iā€™ve put in over my mat leave has gone to s**t. Please help, is anyone else dealing with this?

I know how exhausting it is as I went through this for around 2 months for the ā€œ4 month regressionā€ - literally was a walking zombie and definitely wasnā€™t the best version of myself! How old is your LO? Iā€™ve heard thereā€™s another regression at around 6 months due to them developing new skills and I honestly donā€™t know how I will survive if it lasts just as long. Possibly teething maybe? Or uncomfortable in any other way for example temp? The only thing that got me through those 2 months was acknowledging that itā€™s temporary and it will pass. They are still so young and figuring it all out. Wishing you the best of luck and hope it gets better soon!

You're not the only one - all of the June/July/August babies in my antenatal group are doing the same thing ATM!! You're not alone, and you're not doing anything wrong. It's all gone to shit haha! But it is temporary!

So Iā€™ve actually gone to a sleep consultant this time as my first was like this and still is bad with sleeping. Within 2 days of the plan; heā€™s sleeping independently and puts himself to sleep within 2 mins and no crying. We also ditched the dummy. Heā€™s now in his own room and sleeping through. I work from home with a demanding job so this was my only option so I could work and have him home too. Iā€™d really recommend it x

6 month regression!
