Thickener

My baby started on SMA alfamino end of December and has only this week started to show reflux symptoms. Arching his back, coughing lots, lying down on his back he gets upset and this morning just threw up on me which he has never done. My question is, can we just buying something like Carobel over the counter or should we speak to the doctor first? I’ve looked online and you can just buy it?

I just bought it. My gp is crap and it would have taken too long to get in touch with my hv etc (she has sorted everything to do with the milk) I spoke to her about it after and she said it was the right thing to do

@Emma-louise just found a pharmacy that sell it so heading there in a min! How long does it take to kick in?

@Rachael I bought carobel. It stopped my daughter being sick immediately. It also stopped her spitting half the bottle out 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’ve been using gaviscon for my little one and it’s massively helped.

@Lauryn thank you! I got it on Saturday and he drank 7oz for the first time! Was usually getting 3/4 every 2 hours so it’s been amazing the last few days only giving him a few in the day (he drinks most at night 🥲😅) but yes! Great feeling ♥️

@Hannah thank you! I saw this in the pharmacy too! She said try the carobel then come back if he needs something a little different so keeping it in mind just in case 🤞🏼

@Rachael amazing news! I hope it makes him a lot more comfortable ❤️ We just started alfamino too after she refused nutramigen and pepti 1 and the althera wasn’t working 🤦🏼‍♀️
