Is it a bad idea?

Is it a bad idea to have my 2 year old watch the walking dead with me? I thought he'd be more interested in his toys but he was very into the show 😅 I didn't care much until a walker got a pipe through the skull lol He's watched me play zombie video games since he was able to see so maybe it doesn't scare him? Idk I just don't wanna traumatize him

Any tv and screen time can be harmful for very young/developing brains, do your research, WHO recommends 0 mins for under 2yo.. ms Rachel is more harmful than you know, so I’m pretty sure the walking dead could be very harmful to a child . I personally think it’s not a good idea to allow this

I don't think you were asking about screen time advice, but The Walking Dead is a terrible show choice for a child. And Ms Rachel is amazing.

@heather Each to their own but if you look into it it’s more harmful than you realise and it’s designed to be addictive, it’s not hard to find the research. Just sharing info that I wish I’d known earlier no need to have a dig.

She didn’t ask whether or not screen time was okay, she asked whether a certain programme was okay. I’m sure she’s done her own research about it, she doesn’t need you spamming her with links. OP, I’d say the walking dead would be harmful but Ms Rachel is fantastic. Snoop Dogg has his own show that’s pretty cool for kids, it’s all animated.

🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m not spamming I’m sharing valuable info which I wished I’d discovered from the start. I’m not forcing anyone to look at it, it’s there if you’re interested. No need to attack me for sharing information in relation to the op. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_S_im4IOZG/?igsh=MWlseHd0anR6Z2RsNQ==

People sometimes post incognito when they want to invoke a reaction. I’m not being judgemental I shared some information that is all

I mean, the source of your 'research' and 'valuable information' is from Instagram.. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

My sons favorite movie is ghost busters the frozen empire, it’s definitely not something I’d say is appropriate for every 2 year old to watch, but we’ve raised our son to be very aware that stuff on the tv is not real & we control if we continue watching it or not. 🤷‍♀️ We’ve watched horror movies like normal since my son has been born. If he’s bothered or scared in anyway we turn it off & put something else on to emphasize that none of it is real. I was raised on old school dr who, the twilight zone & shitty scify channel horror movies tho 🤷‍♀️ so

@Heather I just had that to hand, not everything you see on instagram is valuable but there are some great experts and info freely available, it’s up to each of us how much we explore anything in relation to our children. I’m not on here to fight with people, if it’s of no interest to you that’s ok 👍🏼

I made my almost 2 year old watch sex lives of college girls with me because it was time for a mommy show 🥲😂

Extremely bad idea girlie :,) I was watching this and all kinds of shows like this with my 1st and I saw her actually *watching* them and it made me feel extremely convicted. It’s not edgy or cute to put your kids on horrific shit. That’s gonna give him nightmares… and nightmares typically start coming around at age 3. I watched my SD have constant nightmares pretty much up until she was like 6 bc her mom watched anything and everything around her. She claimed to “love scary movies” and never be scared of anytning. But she had night terrors all the time. I’m also a firm believer that that stuff is evil, the same way the music you listen to can shape your thoughts and stuff. Watching stuff will mess with you too. We haven’t allowed stuff like that in our home for about 3 years now.

i would say definitely not a good idea. ik it’s hard to watch boring kids shows all the time but their little brains are soaking up everything and even of it doesn’t affect your kid now i think those images will remain and could cause problems later. we made the mistake of watching trailer park boys and about a week ago my kid started swearing like a sailor even tho he didn’t seem to be interested in the show or picking up the language he absolutely was soaking it all up.
