Sciatica

Hi mums/ mums to be, I am suffering with sciatica I can barely walk, I am a beauty therapist and work all day on my feet. I’m 9 weeks and I’m scared it will lead to me being immobile. Has this happened to anyone else ? Has anyone got any tips how I can help this please?

Hiya! I would recommend seeing your GP and midwife about it. I have sciatica and PGP, the GP prescribed me some pain relief and midwife recommended me for pregnancy physio. I’ll be honest, it’s an absolute killer (I have sciatica anyway but pregnancy seems to just exacerbate the pain). I’d recommend the usual - heat patches, baths when you can, I have a strap heat pack that I wear when at my desk, are there times where you can work sitting rather than standing? I find there’s a really fine line between having done too much movement and being in lots of pain so am trying to manage doing just the right amount to stay mobile and not seize up, but not move too much and be in agony all evening!

Hey, I got sciatica but in my second trimester. I feel your pain because honestly I couldn’t get out of bed! Baths was the only thing that took the pain away for me and I used heat creams but I don’t think they recommend to use them… I also found getting a pregnancy pillow helped x

I had sciatica through my whole first pregnancy, unfortunately it never went away, it just stayed how it was even with physio, the moment I gave birth I never felt it again 😂 until me second pregnancy…😂
