When are you starting to feed baby?

My boy just turned 5 months yesterday (how!?!?!!) and I know it’s supposed to be 6 months to start purées, is that what everyone is doing? Also, what activities should I be doing with him? He seems way more interested in playing and toys than he did before. He is rolling but not on a daily basis, he does well keeping his head up when I have him seated and we do lots of tummy time which he is finally starting to enjoy.

I started purée’s when my little was 4 months old she had good head control and didn’t need much support and starting early so I’ve read they’re not likely to get a good allergy. My doctor also cleared us to start early as well

Six months is minimum

Our pediatrician encouraged us to start at 4 months, and we started at 4.5 months with purees. Our daughter is loving it, we only do it once a day. At this age food is for practice, and to see if they are allergic. She still gets her nutrition from breastmilk

We do 6 months and all signs of readiness. And do BLW.

Started at 4 months with purées. Baby boy has had sweet potato’s, potato’s, apples, bananas, baby oatmeal, and I let him lick what I’m eating if it’s reasonable like pineapple and he LOVED it and also tried cantaloupe but not as much love as pineapple.

My little one gets puree at “lunch” and “dinner” but takes 5-6 bottles a day of breast milk! He is 5 months old

We started at 4 with our first but waiting until 6 with this one as it can affect gastrointestinal development later in life. My boy toots a lot (could be unrelated) so I’m not risking it 😂

Started at 4m with clearance of the ped with our first and started and he just flew away with food, got clearance yesterday at 6M with our second but she shows zero signs of interest/readiness! Remember, food before one is just for fun! It’s normally up to the baby😅

We also started at 4 months with clearance from doc. We did a mix of BLW and purées. She enjoys it. Check out this video!

We started about 2 weeks before he turned 4 months. Just bought a steamer/processor to start doing more foods now that he’s 5 months & showing more hunger cues for more milk more often.

Our pediatrician told us to start at 4mths. My baby is now 5mths and has food here and there. We do tummy time when we can (she hates it) so sometimes we just leave her on the mat and let her figure it out lol she can sit and has head control. We play music for her. Read her books, let her play with toys and I show her contrast cards or cards with emotions. I also teach her words for each emotion in 2 languages (we’re a bilingual home and she probably doesn’t understand but it’s a start)
