I love them. I wanted to cry the first time I wore them because I realized how overstimulated I was by all of the day to day noises in our house lol
I don't like hearing any kind of muffled sounds. I've never tried the loop plugs specifically, but have heard good things from many in the autistic community. I actually tried the Flare Calmer buds. They don't completely block out sound, but channel it in a way that reorganizes the sound waves before they enter your ear. I ordered them for my birthday in October, wore them for a few days before I upgraded to the calmer 2 prototypes. My husband uses the first pair I bought. I call them my super power! The difference in my mood in dealing with 2 toddlers is night and day. Now the noise doesn't set me off so bad. If you are easily overstimulated, don't hesitate to invest in a pair of good quality buds!
I love mine, been using them for a few years in the office and on public transport. They just dull a lot of the background noises; clicking keyboards, people’s cutlery and eating noises, outside traffic noise, appliances quietly running like the dishwasher. Just takes the edge off but you can still hear everything nearby perfectly.
I really really appreciate everyone’s genuine thoughts on it. Lately with all 3 of my toddlers it’s been very overwhelming & overstimulating my husband has been working out of town. So lately being alone with all three is has been so so hard. I finally bought them got in the mail just last night so today is my first time trying the loops so far I’m ok. I think I just need to get use to them but it is great to not hear everything they are doing so loudly:)
I use them and I find it helps me stay calm especially if she's having a tantrum which then calms her down a lot quicker. It really helps with not making me as overwhelmed or overstimulated as often! X
