Hey! I got diagnosed in November, they’ve put me on metformin. I also take folic acid, vitamin D, fish oil, and myo-inositol ultra from free soul. I found myo-inositol & metformin has helped me to ovulate after not having a period for 4 months! Hope this helps x
@Katy Oh I was wondering about how both would work together, can I ask what doses you take?
I've been put on both myo-inositol and metformin as well. I currently take 4g myo-inositol and 2000mg metformin
@Nicola I’ve done a lot of research on it and seen a lot of posts on PCOS groups on Facebook and most people take it together. Im on 2000mg of metformin (2 in the morning & 2 at night) & 4000mg of myo-inositol (2 in the morning and another 2 at night) - I just followed the instructions on the box but it’s definitely helped!
I personally didn’t really notice a difference. I was initially put on it when we were having fertility issues and trying to conceive the first time. Unfortunately nothing really worked for me except the real meds (Letrozole etc) to make me ovulate and eventually get pregnant. Now that I have my two kids, I don’t really care about whether or not I ovulate anymore and my other symptoms from PCOS don’t bother me as much, aside from the super irregularities, flow level and very bad cramps, which I just use birth control and that seems to help subside those three issues…good luck!
@Katy That's amazing, I'm definitely going to look into it, thank you so much 😁
I found it gentler on my stomach than Metformin but it can be costly too, I'd say try both and see what works for you x
