Scripps Hillcrest or UCSD Hillcrest?

Insurance won’t cover two initial pregnancy appointments and I have to decide beforehand. My Scripps appointment is 1/28 and UCSD isn’t until 2/18, I’m 6w4d right now. Worth waiting for UCSD? Opinions on each practice are appreciated!

Never did scripps but I did UCSD La Jolla for my pregnancy and loves it. I visited the hillcrest location once and it wasn’t the same experience as the La Jolla office. A much longer wait time and old building

I gave birth at the Scripps mercy and my OB/GYN was in Hillcrest and it was honestly the most amazing experience and super attentive. They respond back same day, the on call team helps asap and they helped me when my pregnancy got complicated without scaring me

I had my first UCSD appointment at 8 weeks. If you’re not experiencing any pain and feel okay, I would wait for UCSD unless you want to pay more out of pocket. I had all my care and delivered with UCSD and it was an amazing experience. Highly recommend ❤️

If you wanted to go with UCSD but didn’t want the wait time for the first appointment (it felt/feels eternal to me), CAPS pregnancy clinics has free ultrasounds and is so helpful! That’s where I went while waiting for my UCSD appointment. My insurance only covers UCSD so I personally didn’t compare the two but wanted to throw this out there as an option before your first appointment!

WORTH WAITING FOR UCSD girlfriend

I went into labor and went to scripps Hillcrest bc I was born there so I wanted my daughter to be born there too, but I asked them to transfer me to ucsd bc the sheets had blood, there was band aids everywhere, plus a cup with urine so my daughter was born at ucsd Hillcrest
