Mine was on 3 meals from 6 months but I started weaning at 4.5 months so I suppose if you started at 6 months then maybe around 8 months.. but i just upped it when he was finishing each meal x
The aim is to be on 3 meals by 12 months. We did 1 meal at 6months, 2 meals by 8/9months and then 3 meals at 11 months. Remember milk is their main source of nutrition so there’s honestly no rush x
My girl is almost 9m now but we increased to 3 meals when she was 7.5/8 months old. Started weaning at 6m. Was just led by baby.
We've only just started doing 2 meals with my 8 month old, sometimes a snack too if I see she's responding well to food
By 9 months they should be eating 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks. You can offer food starting at 6 months twice a day- they likely will eat 1-2 tablespoons of food at a time.
@Roz this is wrong. They don’t need snacks at this age. Milk is their main source.
@Emily all my health visitors have said give snacks x
Mine was on 3 meals by 7 months. I did a course with the neonatal team at the hospital I had my son and that was the advice I followed from them. But we also didn't do BLW so idk if that makes a difference but for his first month of weaning it was all purées. First 2 weeks it was just dinner. 3rd week I started giving him breakfast too and 4th week he started having lunch. He's now 14 months old and an amazing eater.
My girl has been eating 3 meals since 7 months old, it’s never enough😂😂
@Elena I do wonder where these HVs get their advice! 🤦🏻♀️ The nhs advice is to introduce 2 snacks once over the age of 1. Any younger and milk should be offered.
@Emma if I offered milk mine would throw up so I just give biscuits or fruit or yoghurt or cheese .. personally think it’s child dependent x
@Elena how much is he eating at meal times?? Obviously milk is nutritionally complete and has everything they need that snacks don’t. However, you know your baby better than anyone and they’re all so different ❤️
@Emma lots lol he’ll eat the same portion as a 2 year old x
@Elena I'm glad you've said that because I see some of the portions on here and I worry I'm overfeeding him but if I served him the tiny portions i see pictured he'd be crying in an hour because he's starving 😩 lol

@Elena I think my lg would too if I offered it to be fair! 😅 We’re almost 1 so only just at 3 meals now. She loves her milk too so she’s pretty easy!
@Megan hahaha he knows when he’s full he will grab the spoon off me or turn his head so i know im not over feeding him! I have a big appetite myself so i assume things like that can be genetic 🤷🏻♀️ x
@Emma he does stop when he’s full so he’s not over fed he just likes his grub x

When My Baby was six months, she was having breakfast lunch and dinner she didn’t eat all because she was still haveing boob lol
I started giving her 3 meals and snacks by 10 months.
My girl is almost 8 months and I'm still only doing 2 meals a day, she doesn't need more than that. I probably won't go up until nearer 9 months
