Baby not taking to weaning

I’m a week into weaning and whenever I do it, baby just pushes the spoon out with her tongue, just is not interested. Milk intake has increased, she is not my first so I’m aware of signs and believe she is totally ready. But I don’t understand why she’s not liking it. She won’t open her mouth without me basically tricking her. When she spoon does eventually get to her she pushes it out. Feel a bit at a loss with weaning

We have been doing a few first tastes with my little one and she doesn't seem to be interested either 🙈

Sounds like she isn’t quite ready, I would pause it for a week and see if that makes any difference xx

Mine hates me feeding her. Hasn’t taken to weaning well either but I think it’s a combination of teething and colds etc. today I gave her a preloaded spoon of cold yoghurt and she had some. If I tried she’d purse her lips. Maybe baby led weaning might help? X

That's really normal, the first week & a half my daughter just screwed her face up and spat it all out. And then one day, she didn't. Maybe give her a few days and then try again, or even, try BLW and see how she takes to it? Once I gave my kiddo broccoli florets to eat herself, she pretty much refused the purées

It took my boy quite a while to actually swallow - make sure you’re starting with with really thin smooth purées if you’re doing that (my boy hates lumpier purées and just gags) make sure you get the spoon right to the back of the mouth so they can keep it in better! You could try finger foods instead - my boy puts everything in his mouth but give him finger food and he lobs it?!??

I found my son prefers to feed himself, I tried a few purees before BLW, but he didn’t really like it and spat it out. Feeds himself now with a spoon or finger foods and he eats everything x

Maybe try BLW?

My girl is the same too. Everything in her mouth, give her food to hold, nope! She reaches for my food, grabs it out my hand, licks it then is like nahhhh. My son was eating like 2 meals a day at this age!
