San Francisco here - Baby on breastmilk for now but curious what others say! My husband and I spend $900/month on just us. We dont drink.

2 adults and a toddler almost $600 a month. I meal plan for the month and try to avoid Walmart. Aldis, Winco, grocery outlet and Costco

We were in a very strict grocery budget when my husband lost his job for the three of us I would spend 300-500 a month

I live in Los Angeles and everything is expensive so we spend $1000-$1200 on groceries. i have to admit we mostly buy organic and only from Whole foods and sprouts so it’s more expensive.

@Annivie aw I miss the breastfeeding days. Mine is on whole milk and she drinks about 2 cartons a week!

@Hannah that’s really good! Need some meal plan ideas.

@Aaliyah you’re amazing for getting it done with 300-500!

@Patty same here! About 1000-1200 at sprouts and Whole Foods. My baby loves her fruits so I’m at the stores twice a week to get fresh fruits.

800 to 1000 dollars monthly Sacramento area when school is out it's 1000 to 1200.

I go off meal plans by doing each week of dinners. 3 days chicken, 2 days red meat, 1 day seafood and we always have a pizza night. So just each week pick something different in each meat category unless it’s a favorite like wings which can be bought in bulk unseasoned at Costco which makes easy planning lol So could look like Monday - marry me chicken Tuesday - asada tacos Wednesday - wings Thursday - chicken teriyaki Friday - homemade pizza Saturday - stuffed salmon Sunday - bacon burgers Our breakfasts & lunches are repetitive. Pancakes on days off sausage eggs and avocado toast on other days. Lunches are deli meat sandwiches, nuggets, left overs from dinner. Snacks are chips, jerky, nuts, protein bars, homemade snacks because it’s cheaper to make your own mini muffins than buy a box of premade. Homemade pizzas are way cheaper than box bought and my family prefers homemade anyway. Even down to cookie dough, biscuits, ranch it’s homemade. It’s cheaper and dollars add up.

I know it was rough at first but we learned to live and now that he’s back at work it makes saving easier

@Hannah wow thank you! I’m gonna try to get on your plan! Avocados are super expensive now and they go bad so fast. I only buy 2 at a time. I still don’t know how you can manage to stay around 600. 🫨

I do get wic so that does help a ton for fruits and veggies. You can freeze a whole uncut avocado too so they don’t go bad. I really budget lol the meat is the most expensive so that’s why I plan around it and I’m so thankful my toddler eats whatever we eat! It isn’t easy staying under 600 but so far I’ve been able to do it just sucks going to so many stores in one day with a toddler. Gotta bring the cooler and all so food doesn’t go bad 😂
