Cold

Any of your 3 month olds come down with a cold yet? My husband and toddler both have one and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before baby and I catch it 😭 want to know how you handled it and what to expect..

Saline and sucking out the nose before every feed and before every nap and bed time all you really can do

And probiotics!

My baby got a cold around 2 months. She had some congestion and a little green discharge in one eye. Made sure to use the nose sucker, wiped her eyes regularly with a warm washcloth and just monitored her for a fever. She never got one and just resolved in its own.

My 2 month old at the time what I thought was a cold ended up being RSV. 😅 we just suctioned and saline the nose. My older two caught a cold and turned into pneumonia and my youngest caught RSV from that.

@Annie oh noooo!!! How were the rsv symptoms? Thank god you guys are all ok!!!

Just honestly regular cold symptoms. I went to urgent care for him and they ran a few tests. Turned out to be RSV. It depends on if Your husband and toddler have RSV the baby might get it. They don’t test for RSV in adults and toddlers usually. I went in just for coughing and congestion. When I was at urgent care, they told me they see a lot of babies who have RSV this time of the year. Later on in the week had to go to the ER for retractions. Keep an eye out for RSV symptoms. Retractions around the ribs and the collar bone, wheezing/coughing, and super congested. These are what I’m aware of. If you see any of those in and have the slightest bit concern, I would go in just to be on the safe side. Trust your gut. 🫶🏼

I’m not a professional at all these are just what I got told to watch out for.

Just made sure to clear his nose from boogies every time he had them Kept the humidifier on at night since he was super congested and had a stuffy nose Was also coughing and sneezing a lot. But thankfully he still acted normal and drank his formula for the most part. He obviously drank less so I had to feed him more often so his intake was pretty close to how much he would normally drink. Since he didn’t have a fever at this age you can’t give them any medicine, so you just have to wait it out.

My son has been sick twice within a month and a half. But nothing serious and he was a trooper about it with the same happy mood 😊
