I try to get out of the house a few times a week, and that helps. It's a lot easier to do in the warmer months though. We like to go to the grocery store, playgrounds, story time at the library, zoo, indoor playgrounds at chic fil a, etc. I also like to listen to a lot of audiobooks while she plays.
Same! On days we aren’t stuck inside due to weather, I try to at least get out to the store once a day. But I feel like my 19 month old is bored even though we have so many toys and I sit with her pretty much all day. Also, when it’s nice we try to always go to the park after breakfast. But I feel your pain, I think about this every day. I try to look at diy activities but I feel like they’re always aimed towards older toddlers
If you can try to find a gym with daycare !! it’s life changing🥹
A good parent toddler group (usually at schools or churches) saves me! Because other mums check in with me and I with them. It’s good to talk to other mums who get it! They are always minimal cost £2/3 and often this is optional as they are ran to help. Routine is good. I sometimes do play dog or those magnet tiles in the high chair or let her go outside alone to walk around and play with stones for 15 mins!
*doh
@Kelli the most we’ve been doing for a few months now is the grocery store once a week. i’m so excited for warmer weather!! ugh
@Kelli is your child loud at the library? i’ve been wanting to take my son but i’m worried he’d scream 😂
@Susy i live in the country and the ground is extremely rough full of acorns and stuff and it’s almost impossible to push a stroller or anything around the yard 😭 all there are is backroads and it’s not safe to walk on these roads. it sucks!!
@Amy it is so cold here right now and it snowed a few weeks ago so there’s still snow/ice on the ground and it’s extremely muddy, i can’t wait until it dries up and gets warmer 😭
Things we do at home( not every day): magnets on the fridge, make “roads” on the floor with painters tape or using blocks to make lanes for the cars, bubbles, putting stickers on paper, magnetic tiles, reading books, dance in the living room (she loves party freeze dance songs 😄), play with toys, go outside when it’s warm enough. Things outside the house we like to do: the library (they have a little kids section that has blocks and puzzles), the park, the store to just walk around, grabbing a snack to share. I try to plan at least one activity outside the house a week (besides grocery shopping). Also I try to go to one new place a month. Whether it be a bakery we haven’t visited or a thrift store or a new park. Just to mix it up.
@Rebecca those are all great ideas!
@Kristen she can be loud, but so are other kids. We typically only go to the library during baby storytime on fridays. You should definitely try it out! Everyone at the library understands and thinks it's cute! We have storytime, and song time. And during song time we have shakers so it does get a little loud. Sometimes she likes to sing pretty loud too!
@Kelli so i looked up my counties toddler story time and it’s on wednesday mornings which is undoable for us because my boyfriend works 🥲 i don’t have a car 😭
@Kristen bummer! I'm not sure how old your son is, but you might want to check if they have a baby story time too. Our counties toddler time is Wednesday but our baby story time is on Friday. My little girl is 19 months and I still take her to baby storytime.

Currently our days are flying by between chores and play. I stick to same schedule every day - wake up, breakfast + chill (I turn on her shows and we eat, play, chill), then we go upstairs to change, wash up and dress for the day+play, if I can I try to sort or fold laundry or whatever other chores I can do upstairs. Then we go back downstairs for a snack, I let her watch a show while she and I snack. Then back upstairs for more play until it’s time to wind down for nap, she naps, I eat and chill. Once she’s awake we go downstairs and I make her lunch. After lunch she plays, watches some shows, and I do chores: laundry, cook dinner, and whatever else I can manage. And then daddy is home and it’s dinner time. An hour before bedtime we all go upstairs, she plays with daddy, I prep for bath, then bath and bedtime routine, and off to bed she goes. When the weather is good we go for walks, before or after lunch, but it’s been freezing so we are at home for now.
@Kelli thanks good idea!
Following because I feel stuck! 😭
